Built in the 1930s the Richland Carrousel is a prominent landmark in downtown Mansfield. In the 1990s an pavilion was added around the carrousel (designed by Dan Seckel) and the gift shop was built.
A few fun facts about the Carrousel (Taken from Carrousel Brochure):
• The Carrousel has 52 animals: including 30 horses and 22 menagerie figures. All were handcrafted by Carousel Works of Mansfield
• The Carousel was created by the visions of John Fernyak, Art Ritchie and Dan Jones
• The Stinson Band Organ built in Bellfontaine Ohio, provides the music for the carrousel
• The Carrousel has two speeds 3.71 MPH for those closer to the center, and 6.77 MPH for those in the outer regions
